Pay Desk is built so you can use every calculator on this site without sending your numbers anywhere. The paycheck, bonus, and deduction calculators run entirely in your own browser using JavaScript already loaded with the page; the wages, filing status, and other figures you type in are never sent to our servers, stored in a database, or seen by us. If you close the tab, the numbers are gone.

What we do collect

Like most websites, our server logs basic technical information when a page loads, such as the page requested, the date and time, and the requesting browser's general technical details. We use first-party, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages get read and which calculators get used, so we can prioritize building the states and tools people actually need. This analytics does not track you across other websites.

Advertising and cookies

This site is supported by display advertising. Our advertising partners, and the networks they work with, may place and read cookies on your browser, and may use web beacons or your IP address, to serve and measure ads, including ads that are personalized to your interests based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control or clear cookies through your browser's own settings, and many ad networks offer their own opt-out tools for personalized advertising. Where required by law, such as for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent banner before any personalized advertising cookie is set.

Third parties

We do not sell the limited data described above to third parties for their own marketing. Our advertising and analytics partners operate under their own privacy policies, which govern what they do with data collected through their services on our pages; we link to those partners' own disclosures where our ad or analytics provider requires it.

Children's privacy

Pay Desk is a general-purpose reference tool, not a site directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site adds features, such as a saved-calculation tool that would store data on our servers; if that ever happens, we will update this page and describe clearly what changes and why before the feature launches. The date at the top of this page, shown in the "Checked on" line below, tells you when this policy was last reviewed.
