Every column after the wage is take-home pay. Each row assumes 40 hours a week all year, one paycheck every two weeks, single, no dependents, and no benefits taken out. The monthly and yearly columns are that paycheck times 26. Use the paycheck calculator for your own hours and deductions.
What comes out of an hourly paycheck
At $25 an hour, a two-week paycheck in Florida starts at $2,000.00 and ends at $1,690.85.
| Federal income tax | $156.15 |
| Social Security | $124.00 |
| Medicare | $29.00 |
| Florida income tax | $0.00 |
Florida takes nothing from wages at the state level, so an hourly check loses only federal income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. The deductions table lists a Florida income tax line of $0.00, and nothing comes out under it. No state disability or paid leave program takes a share, and no city or county does either.
With every deduction federal, the Florida table has the plainest shape of any state, and the only thing that sets its first row apart is the state minimum wage.
What changes your number
Only the federal side moves a Florida paycheck. Each raise meets your federal bracket and the same flat Social Security and Medicare shares, so the share you keep falls slowly and smoothly as the wage rises, with no state bracket to cross.
What you can control is how much pay reaches the federal calculation. Pretax benefits and retirement contributions come out before income tax, so they lower your take-home by less than their face amount. Hours and overtime change the check more than anything else in a state with no wage tax.
Hours matter too. At $20 an hour and 30 hours a week instead of 40, a two-week paycheck in Florida comes to $1,048.05.

Sources and checks
Checked on Oct 29, 2026. Source: Florida Constitution, Article VII, Section 5(a) (flsenate.gov/Laws/Constitution, fetched Oct 29, 2026): "No tax upon estates or inheritances or upon the income of natural persons who are residents or citizens of the state shall be levied by the state, or under its authority, in excess of the aggregate of amounts which may be allowed to be credited upon or deducted from any similar tax levied by the United States or any state." Federal income tax allows no credit for a state wage tax, so the permitted amount is zero.
Disability: No Florida statute or state agency program provides a disability or paid family leave payroll deduction. Florida's reemployment assistance (unemployment) tax is the employer's alone: Florida Statutes 443.131(1) (leg.state.fl.us, fetched Oct 29, 2026): "An employer may not deduct contributions, interests, penalties, fines, or fees required under this chapter from any part of the wages of his or her employees."
Local taxes: The same Article VII, Section 5(a) bars an income tax levied "by the state, or under its authority," which covers counties and cities; Article VII, Section 9(a) lets local governments levy only taxes authorized by general law, "except ad valorem taxes on intangible personal property and taxes prohibited by this constitution" (flsenate.gov/Laws/Constitution, fetched Oct 29, 2026).
Minimum wage: Florida Department of Commerce, "Florida's Minimum Wage, Updated September 30, 2026" and the 2026-2027 minimum wage poster (both linked from floridajobs.org/florida-minimum-wage, fetched Oct 29, 2026): "Effective September 30, 2026, the Florida minimum wage will be $15.00 per hour, with a minimum wage of at least $11.98 per hour for tipped employees, in addition to tips, through December 31, 2027." Florida Constitution, Article X, Section 24(c): the rate rises to $15.00 on Sept. 30, 2026; inflation adjustments are calculated each Sept. 30 starting in 2027 and "take effect on the following January 1st," so the next change is Jan. 1, 2028, at a rate not yet published.
Federal withholding: IRS Publication 15-T (2026), Worksheet 1A and its "2026 Percentage Method Tables for Automated Payroll Systems and Withholding on Periodic Payments of Pensions and Annuities," pages 10 to 12. Fetched directly from irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15t.pdf and transcribed Oct 28, 2026.
