Paycheck calculators by state
Pick your state to see your take-home pay after its income tax, Social Security, and Medicare.

All states, A to Z
We are still adding the other states. Their tiles on the map are dashed.
States with no income tax
These states take nothing from your wages for state income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Your paycheck still loses federal income tax, Social Security, and Medicare, and the calculator shows all three.
Flat-rate states
These states tax wages at one rate: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Each state's own rules still decide what comes off first, such as allowances and standard deductions.
States with a disability or paid-leave deduction
In these states a small part of each paycheck pays for a state disability or paid family leave program: California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington. The calculator shows it as its own line, so you can see what it takes.
Where cities and counties tax wages
Some places add a city, county, or school district tax on wages: Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The calculator works out the county tax for Indiana and Maryland, and leaves the others out, so your take-home pay there can run a little lower than the estimate.
